Kelvin Easterling, one of the MBCAL board members, is trying to find different venues at which he is able to talk about the adult literacy program to people who may be interested in either being a tutor or perhaps want tutoring themselves.
By the end of April, Kelvin will have spent two afternoons at Stater Bros. east in Yucca Valley, not asking for anything, but handing out brochures and talking to passers-by. He will also be going to other community events around the Morongo Basin to make our presence more widely known. Look for him at places like the Joshua Tree Farmers Market and Splash Day at the Joshua Tree Community Center. If you have suggestions as to where he might set up a table and provide information, let us know.
